21 Days of Prayer, Fasting, and Connection for 2021
Ithaca First looks forward to our 21 Day Prayer and Fasting each year. We added a component of Connection because we know how difficult and disconnected our church family and others have been during last year and into this year. We made a simple card for you to follow along and check for each day: daily scripture verse, fast, connect with others, and a thought for the day of what the Lord lays on your heart.
We felt strongly this year to focus and concentrate on God’s promises. In the document below we have 21 daily Scriptures that you can follow along as you read and pray. Ways to connect in prayer:
- Prayer by Phone lead by Karen Yearwood: Sundays at 7:30pm-8:00pm on 1/10,1/17, 1/24, 1/31 Conference dial in: (425) 436-6325 access code: 1047416
- Prayer by Zoom lead by Pastor Lonnie: Wednesdays 7:00pm-7:30pm on 1/13, 1/20, 1/27 Meeting ID: 733 1596 4141 Passcode: pray
- Weekly video scripture on FB Live with Pastor John during the 21 days
Why do you include the section on Fasting? Because some things require more than prayer. It requires a fast (to temporarily renounce something that is in itself good, like food traditionally, in order to intensify our expression of need for something greater — namely, God and his work in our lives), and connect with others. Check out message #178 “Fasting for the Next Level” on this webpage under the search bar for more information. If this is new to you start with something small that you can commit to and finish. There are several ideas on the card below. Again this is just between you and the Lord.
And lastly but certainly not least we added a component for each of us to connect with those in the Church (that you belong to) and those outside that you part of (co-workers, neighbors, extended family, whomever the Lord leads you to reach out to). You might be asking how can we do this in this era where we need to social distance? Our God is creative God and He has given you that same ability to think and reach out in safe and creative ways. Look below to see some ideas to get you started.
We will be on this journey together. Be mindful to pray for each other, to encourage each other, and see how God wants to lead you as you start this new year.
