Psalm 91 Day 18

Day 18
Psalm 91:16 “With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

The term long life is not actually focused on the quantity of days – meaning how long we live, but rather on the quality of each day God grants us.

It is the same term used to describe the death of Abraham in Genesis 25:8 “full of years”, which means “a fulfilled life.”

King David passed away in 2 Chronicles and it says “He lived a long life Full of Days” or it can be translated – “satisfied with life.”

Caleb, at 85 years old was assisting in the fight to possess the land and he says of his life “I am as strong now as I was when Moses sent me.” He was a man of 85 but felt like a 45-year-old.

Every one that has their treasure and heart focused on heaven, God promises a fulfilling life that will not end but carry on into eternal life.

It’s one thing for doctors to add years to our lives, but God adds life to our years and that makes life worthwhile.

We do not know what 2017 has in store for us. So, we need God to help us live every day, every opportunity, every relationship to the fullest.

So instead of worrying about how many days we have left – let God help you put more life into each day! – pjs
