Psalm 91 Day 15
Psalm 91:11&12 “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.”
So far in Psalm 91, God promises to personally protect us Himself – by becoming our shelter, fortress, covering, shield, and safe house when the storms of life strike. As if that was not enough – He commissions His angels to protect us as well.
Billy Graham in his book “Angels” uses this verse as one of his proofs that we as Christians do not just have one guardian angel. According to this Psalm – God does not assign one solitary angel to each saint, but rather HE commissions the whole armies of heaven to keep watch over every individual believer.
Psalms 34:7 “angels encamp round about them that fear him.”
Yesterday Pastor Jenny asked us the question ‘How many, at times, have not made the smartest decisions and are thankful God was there to protect us?’ Thinking back on my answer to her question makes me even more excited about this verse. The angels of God are commissioned to accompany, defend, protect, and preserve you; and against the power, influence, lies, and attack of the enemy.
2 Kings 6:15-17 “When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere. “Oh, sir, what will we do now?” the young man cried to Elisha.
“Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.”
So no matter what comes your way today – take a moment to look up and realize that God has more resources available for you then you can imagine. Nothing you will face today is a surprise to God or catches Him unprepared.
